Copper surfaces kill C Diff?
I love it when medical researchers are creative in their studies. I just read this article saying that scientists at the University of Southampton have found promising evidence that C Diff is inactivated quickly on copper surfaces. This could dramatically reduce the spread of C Diff in hospitals.
So, if this is true and it also helps prevent the spread of MRSA, then what are we waiting for? Let’s up the ante in our hospitals with copper door handles, tools, and commonly used surfaces! Hmmm, think we should start using copper plated toilets?
